If 2007 playoff teams Onalaska and Tomah will indeed be two of the top teams in the Mississippi Valley Conference again this fall, the Hilltoppers will have to contain bruising back Joel Sweeney when they meet. Onalaska got to see a similar back Friday in Lodi’s Keith McBride.
With several returning skill players and an offensive line that returns nearly intact, Onalaska High School's football team shouldn't have huge problems producing offense this fall. But a defense that head coach Dieter Antoni thinks will be more physical gives Onalaska hope they can move toward a second Mississippi Valley Conference championship in three seasons in 2008.
