Olympic gold medalist Paul Hamm has a broken bone in his right hand, X-rays confirmed Friday. The injury, incurred Thursday night on the parallel bars at the U.S. championships in Houston, will take at least four weeks' recovery, which would keep him out of the U.S. Olympic trials June 19-22 in Philadelphia. The men's competition at the Beijing Games begins Aug. 9.
URBANA – A Champaign man, accused of firing a gun in the direction of a business associate, is due to be back in court in July. Arthur Anderson, 32, of the 800 block of North State Street, was charged Friday in Champaign County Circuit Court with aggravated discharge of a firearm for firing a gun on May 14 at a car in the 2500 block of West Springfield Avenue, Champaign.
